Ada Developers Academy is a non-profit, tuition-free coding school for women and gender expansive adults. We focus on serving Black, Latine, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander communities, low-income people, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our program consists of two highly immersive parts: six months of focused instruction, and five months of internship at partner companies, where students refine their skills working on real-world code.
About this position
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our organization during a period of exciting growth. As a member of our Finance team, you will be a key participant in month-end close, financial reporting, processing multi-state payroll, local tax compliance, and grant support. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position with an annual salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 (DOE) and excellent benefits.
This will be a hybrid position located in Seattle, WA, combining an in-office and remote work schedule.
Conduct month-end close process, prepare supporting schedules
Contribute to financial reporting, provide variance analysis
Maintain chart of accounts, general ledger, review entries, ensure GAAP compliance
Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll, reconcile benefits and payroll tax accounts
Maintain grant allocation reporting, support Grant Manager with reports and data for grant applications
State tax reports and filing, census reporting, insurance audits
Support Finance team and organization with ad-hoc projects as-needed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field
At least 4 years of experience in accounting or related field, with at least 2 years of experience in an intermediate role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control concepts
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to organize and prioritize workload, and complete tasks independently with a high degree of accuracy
CPA or CMA preferred
Prior nonprofit experience a plus
