Ada Developers Academy is a non-profit, tuition-free coding school for women and gender expansive adults. We focus on serving Black, Latine, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander communities, low income people, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our program consists of two highly immersive parts: six months of focused instruction, and five months of internship at partner companies, where students refine their skills working on real-world code.
About this position
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to help execute recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies for our growing volunteer program. As a member of our Student Services team, you will also be responsible for working closely with our instructors and support staff to align volunteer programs to community needs. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a salary range of $45,000-$50,000 DOE and excellent benefits.
Outreach to company partners, alums, and current volunteers to source new volunteers for roles including, but not limited to: tutors, teaching assistants, mentors, and interview coaches.
Coordinate outreach and recruitment events for company partners and tech community groups.
Screen prospective volunteers who have applied via our website or an outreach event and bring them though our onboarding process, including sharing Ada values, determining the right volunteer role for them, and determining next steps.
Help the student services team create a new volunteer code of conduct to support the safety and culture of our volunteer program.
Manage volunteer data in airtable and Salesforce, coordinating with the data team as needed.
Create opportunities for mutual support and community-building amongst volunteers.
Help develop a culture of volunteer appreciation by building a system for sending out swag, thank you cards, and other forms of recognition.
Engage current students and alums in volunteer recognition and appreciation.
Manage volunteer satisfaction surveys, and propose program modifications to improve their experience.
At least one year of experience in program coordination or volunteer management
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to independently execute complicated projects from beginning to end
Enjoys working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
